PUNCH UP YOUR PILLOWS
Your sofa just got a whole lot cooler.
This month, Sarah Hearts shows us how to make this trendy hand-painted throw pillow to drum up some style in your decor. We love the way Sarah played with both shapes and color to produce a truly fun and abstract design that looks like it came right out of a high-end furniture store. The best thing about this project is that there are no rules! Go with your gut feeling. If you want dots, dot away! You feel a stripe coming your way, add a stripe to your pillow!

GET THE SUPPLIES
Here’s everything you’ll need to round up to make your pillows:
- Solid pillow cover
- Pillow insert
- Martha Stewart Crafts Tentable Fabric Medium
- Martha Stewart Crafts Acrylic Multi-Surface Craft Paint
- Martha Stewart Crafts Paint Brushes
- Martha Stewart Crafts Foam Pouncers
- Wax paper or cardboard
Time: Sarah says the project takes about 30 minutes total to complete, plus added drying time. So, in other words, don’t start this project when you know you have company on their way.

FIND YOUR PILLOW PASSION
Have fun creating your own painted throw pillows to really deck out your personal space. Use them in the living room on a love seat, or beautify your bedding. You can also experiment with different shapes or patterns, like scallops and chevron.
