Spring-y Flowers: Video

Make Spring-y Flowers (paper flowers on a SPRING) and gift them to teachers, friends, decorate your table with them or tuck them in a box and surprise someone for April Fools Day!

Materials:

  • construction paper
  • glue
  • scissors
  • marker

Instructions

    1. flowers-longTo make the spring, cut two long strips of green construction paper, lengthwise down the paper. Form a right angle with the ends of each strip and glue the ends together with a small dab of glue. Fold one strip over the next and then the next strip on top, over the other and so on until you have formed an accordion-style spring. Snip off the ends and add a touch of glue to stick the last folded pieces together.

    2. Draw the shape of a flower. Use your imagination with this part, get out some fun botanical books and look for exciting and colorful flowers and try to replicate the look by drawing the outline. Then cut out the flower.

    3. Draw a tiny round center and decorate it with a marker to give it some texture. Then cut it out and glue it to the center of your flower.

    4. Glue the flower to the top of the spring.

You can make as many flowers as you like to create your own spring-y garden!
