Turn ordinary rubber bands and toilet paper rolls into stamps with this easy and artsy craft that you can make two ways! This craft could also be a great lesson in understanding and creating repeating patterns.
- toilet paper rolls
- rubber bands
- hot glue or white craft glue
- permanent marker
- a shallow container
- There are two ways you can make your stamps. For a glue-free method, simply wrap rubber bands around the paper roll to create the stamp. Pro tip: be sure to straighten the twisted bands out so the paint will have a flat surface to adhere.
- Alternatively, you can cut small pieces of rubber band and glue them on using hot glue or white craft glue. If you use white craft glue, be sure to allow it to dry completely before you use your stamps. Glue the pieces on in any pattern you wish. We even made geometric shapes and letters out of the pieces!
- Once your stamps are made, pour some paint in a shallow container and roll your stamps through the paint. Wipe off excess paint if too much gets on the actual roll (instead of the rubber) for the best results.
Now channel your inner artist and create wonderful works filled with all kinds of cool patterns and designs using your new homemade stamps!
