A well-defined color palette of pinks and purples gives this perennial border a unified look in the garden. Upon closer inspection, however, the details reveal a series of rich contrasts. Spiky false indigo and meadow rue play against the rounded forms of plantain and allium, to cite a couple of examples. The overall size of the garden is 29 x 8 feet and is best planted in full sun. The garden as shown is designed for hardiness Zones 6-7. (Note: Zone recommendations are for the exact plants listed; your local garden center can usually recommend plant substitutions that will allow you to use this plan in other Zones.)
