Mother’s Day Brunch

Overall

I kept the brunch table simple with a few easy DIY pieces making the biggest impact, like the bright tissue pom-poms and colorful cupcake stand.

Cupcake Stand and Doilies

The cupcake stand did double duty as both a pretty centerpiece and a serving platter for the brunch food.I used Martha Stewart Crafts paint, Martha Stewart Crafts butterfly stickers, and cutouts from the Martha Stewart Crafts butterfly layering punch to embellish the Martha Stewart Crafts cupcake stand.

I scattered paper doilies in various sizes and shades of pink down the center of the table for an easy table runner and also used them to embellish plain circular place mats just by slotting them under each plate.

Butterfly Bouquets

Butterfly stickers set into inexpensive baby’s breath look ready to fly away among the flowers. I used mason jars painted with Martha Stewart Crafts acrylic craft paint as cheery vases.

Place Setting

The butterfly stickers also made a sweet napkin holder. I adhered each sticker to a length of ribbon and tied it around the napkin. For place cards, I stenciled each guest’s monogram on a coaster.

Cake

I used Martha Stewart cupcake toppers and stencils to spell out “Happy Mom’s Day” for a simple and festive cake topper.

Martha Stewart products used: Doily Lace Gold Thread, Garden Butterfly Layering Punch, Cherry Blossom Deep Edge Punch, Vintage Girl Cupcake Wrappers, Doily Lace Cupcake Stand, and Butterfly Stickers, all available at Michaels Craft Stores.
